Severe Weather Conditions and Potential School Closures

In the event that the school has to be closed due to severe weather conditions, please listen to local radio stations who will be making regular updates throughout the morning (Heart FM on 97.1 or 96.4, Radio Suffolk 95.5, 95.9, 103.9 or 104.6 FM).

Information will also appear on the following websites:

There is also the Suffolk County Council website: schoolclosures.suffolk.gov.uk

We will also confirm whether the school is closed or not on the school website; www.grundisburghprimaryschool.co.uk.

Information can also be found on our Twitter account @grundisburghsch

Please do not phone the school on the morning as the phone lines can become jammed at a time when staff may need to be in contact with the school. We will also ensure that a member of staff is on site to inform parents on arrival if they have not received information about the school being closed.

Please bear in mind that in the event of severe weather conditions we will make every effort to keep the school open and will only close if it is felt that the safety of staff, children and yourselves would be put at risk if the school were to stay open for the day.
It may arise that we open but with a delayed start or an early finish – again the particular conditions at the time will determine these kinds of outcomes but we will endeavour to communicate any decisions to you as early and as clearly as possible.
