Tournaments Update

Here is a list of tournaments we are planning on entering or have entered during the academic year 2019-20. There will be many opportunities for children to be involved in competitive games and this table will be updated throughout the year so progress can be monitored and more tournaments added as they arise. Also listed below are our achievements in tournaments from 2018-19.

Thursday 17th October 2019      

Football Festival – U11 at Whitton Sports Centre

We won 1 of our matches but lost 3. We came 4th in our group. Thank you to the Year 5s who represented our school at what was a predominantly Year 6 tournament.

Badminton Festival

A great afternoon for all the children attending, 10 from Year 4 in total. They were able to experience all that the Racket Pack has to offer and have been signposted towards Badminton Clubs should they be interested in pursuing further.

Monday 5th November 2019

Tag Rugby Festival

We drew two games and lost three. The children represented the school incredibly well and were very respectful towards the referees.

We played against 5 other schools in some fast and furious games!

We played six matches, some of which were very close and we won 2.

Football Festival – U11 at Whitton Sports Centre

We won 3 of our matches 1-0 (against Ipswich High, Causton and St. John's) and lost one match 1:3 against Cedarwood.

Football Festival U11 Girls at Whitton Sports Centre

We unfortunately did not win any matches but the girls played well as a team.

Monday 5th November 2018

Tag Rugby Festival at St Joseph's College

The team played really well and were very confident. We won 3 games, drew 1 and narrowly lost one game (5-4 to Morland). Superb play by all and lots of tries. A Year 6 child won Fair Play Award.

We lost 3-2 but it was a very close game and the team were impressed with how much that had improved on working as a team since their last game.

It was a great festival where we won some, drew some and lost some!

We lost the football match 5-3 to Bealings. All played really well though.

Basketball Tournament at Inspire Suffolk

We came 3rd out of 4 in our group. Won one match and lost 2. Beat St Margaret's 20-2.

Dodgeball U7 Festival at Inspire Suffolk


The children played 10 fast paced games. They played amazingly in their first tournament. There was a mixture of games won, drawn and lost.

Cross Country at Hollesley Primary School

We came 2nd! Our highest ever positioning at the Hollesley Cross Country and some great personal bests from the children. Everybody who ran came in the top 15 of their race!

Swimming Gala

We came 6th out of 12 schools. Tough competition and we all swam well.

Cross Country at RHS 9:45-12:30pm

Year 6 children came 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their respective races. Our Year 6 girls finished 1st overall, our Year 5 girls team 2nd and Year 4 boys team 8th.

Won 1 match but unfortunately lost 3. 

Monday 20th May 2019

Netball Tournament at Ipswich School Rushmere 12-2:45pm

6th place. Year 5s entered as Year 6 were in the Lake District. All played really well despite tough competition.

U11 Quad Kids at Northgate High School

2 - 6:15pm

We came 5th out of 62 schools! We went through to County Finals. Amazing individual and team performances.

Football Festival – U9 at Inspire Suffolk

We played five games against Causton, St Pancras, Gorseland, Woodbridge St Mary’s and Halifax. We won one game and drew one, and enjoyed every game we played. Congratulations to Vinnie, who won the Fair Play award.

Football Tournament U11 Boys / Mixed at Inspire Suffolk

The boys played five games, winning three (against Henley, Bildeston and Grange) and drawing against Melton and St Mary’s. They were very disappointed not to get through to the semi-finals, not least because they had played brilliantly and not conceded a goal during the whole tournament!

Football Tournament Girls at Inspire Suffolk

We came 3rd in the School Games U11s Girls’ Football Tournament this week!

We came second in our pool, having played five close games against Gorseland, Bealings, Melton, The Oaks and Ipswich High. We played the first semi-final against Dale Hall (which Dale Hall won 2:0) and then the final for 3rd place, which we won 1:0 against Hadleigh.

Football Festival U7 Boys / Mixed at Inspire Suffolk

Our team played 8 games in total and played better with every game. Our last game was against St Pancras, who had beat us 5:0 earlier in the festival, and we were delighted when we beat them 1:0! 

 Congratulations to Reggie for winning the Fair Play award.

Tag Rugby U11 at St Joseph’s College

All of the children took part brilliantly in the Tag Rugby festival and represented the school well. We won 4-0 against Bucklesham and against Colneis. We beat Morland 5-0. We lost against Gorseland who won 5-0 and we lost against Sandlings 3-1.

Dodgeball U9 Festival at Inspire Suffolk 1-3pm

The children played their very best in four fast and furious matches. They won against Waldringfield (3:0) and were narrowly defeated by Britannia (2:1), Halifax (2:1) and Tattingstone (2:1).

Dodgeball U11 Festival at Inspire Suffolk 1-3pm


Postponed - played Wednesday 7th March.

The children played nine matches in total, winning a few games and one match (2:1 against Hintlesham). They showed great team spirit and determination to catch the ball to get their team mates back on court.

Basketball U11 at Inspire Suffolk

3:30 – 5:45pm

We came up against some tough competition  but played brilliantly as a team. Overall we came 7th out of 8 but the scores did not reflect the grit and determination of out players. Evie won a Fair Play award.

We played 8 matches, winning 4, drawing 1 and losing 3. The children played extremely well as a team, devising their own tactics and improving their skills throughout the festival.

Swimming Gala at Leiston Swimming Pool

Congratulations to our Year 6 swimmers! They came 2nd (out of ten schools) at the Farlingaye Pyramid Swimming GalaThere were several outstanding performances and everyone swam brilliantly. We won seven races, came 2nd in five and 3rd in one. Most importantly, the children were praised for their great team spirit, sportsmanship and impeccable behaviour. Well done, Year 6!

Cross Country at Royal Hospital School

We had a Year 5 child place 1st and Year 6 children came 3rd and 7th. The Year 6 boys as a team came 2nd overall, the Year 4 girls team 5th overall and the Year 4 girls team 3rd overall. Thank you to Alice and Sandy for our fabulous training.

We played well but did not progress to the next round unfortunately. We drew matches but our Year 5s were playing against Year 6 teams.

U11 Quad Kids at Northgate High School 2 – 6:15pm

We came 15th overall out of 62 schools which is an amazing achievement. The 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls from Year 6 were determined to do their best and achieve some PBs. A great Quad Kids team! (13th has been our highest ever score and most of the teams above us where triple form entry schools.)
